Isufi: Kurti is wasting time with Borrell and Lajcak, US has always made decisions about Kosovo

Former member of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo Ahmet Isufi said that Prime Minister Albin Kurti should focus on the United States of America in order to find a solution to disputes with Serbia, Gazeta Express news portal reports.

He believes that Kurti should not waste his time, as he pointed out, "by flirting with EU representatives Josep Borrell and Miroslav Lajcak, but he should go to the administration of the US President Joseph Biden."

"Why flirting with Borrell and Lajcak, when you have Biden and his administration? The US has always made decisions about Kosovo, even when it bombed Serbia," Isufi said for TV channel T7.

He added that Kurti did not have to give up his decision at the last moment. According to Isufi, Kurti had to consult with US Ambassador Jeffrey Hovenier previously.

"He had to talk to the ambassador. Communication alone is not enough, consultations and coordination of actions are needed. I don't know what the prime minister will do after 48 hours, but this way of applauding decisions that take a step back is not good," he said.

Isufi noted that Kurti should also consult the opposition, pointing out that it is a part of the Assembly of Kosovo, and also because of the experience it has. He also emphasized that Kurti's government has been the most non-transparent government so far.
