The mayor of Strpce and the vice-president of the Serb List, Dalibor Jevtic, said today that the Serbs from Kosovo knew very well what challenges Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic had faced and was facing in the dialogue process in Brussels.

Jevtic added that, under the given circumstances, Vucic had managed to fight for what was best at the moment, which, according to Jevtic, is to maintain peace, ensure a high degree of autonomy through the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities, which he was not giving up on, but so that Serbia was not isolated, but to continue to develop economically.

"We did not doubt that Vucic would fight for the interests of the Serbs living in Kosovo and Metohija in the best possible way. For this reason, Vucic has the greatest possible support of the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, as well as beyond," Jevtic told TV Vesti.

He said that anyone who opposed what President Vucic had spoken about was opposing Serbian interests.

"We can have various wishes, but we have to understand the circumstances. What the opposition in Belgrade is doing, and all those who announced that there will be a capitulation in Brussels is disastrous for our interests... And now, when nothing has been signed, they have different excuses and continue to harm the interests of Serbia. Whatever happens, they will always attack Vucic, because he is their only target. This is disastrous," Jevtic said.

He pointed out that the Serbian people in Kosovo know what reality is and that people know that the CSM would provide them with a better life in the future, which was why it was important to start the process of forming the CSM.

Jevtic said that it was in everyone's interest, what President Vucic insisted on, to ensure the free flow of people and goods "It's all positive, there are also difficult things, but Vucic said what the red lines were," Jevtic added.

He pointed out that today Serbia was economically and politically stronger in international relations than it had been during the period of the previous government.

"It's no coincidence that the Serbs in Kosovo trust Vucic the most because he showed it through the dialogue and the previous agreement in Brussels, which everyone attacked, and he was the only one who dared to come to Kosovska Mitrovica and say what happened. Everyone is calling for that agreement because it can be seen that we got peace and stability. And now, everyone who attacks Vucic, and when the CSM is formed, they will see that they were wrong," Jevtic is convinced.

He said that if someone wanted to continue the dialogue in a constructive way, with the certainty that what had been agreed would be implemented, and then everything that had been previously agreed had to be implemented, which meant the CSM and the 22 principles for its formation.

"Those who say that something is not in accordance with the Constitution must know that no one goes to Brussels to agree on something that is in the existing laws, but to agree on what will ensure the safety and life of the Serbs," Jevtic said.

He also pointed out that he encouraged the official position of Washington, which was insinuating the implementation of the previously signed agreement, and reiterated that the CSM was a vital issue for the Serbs in Kosovo.

"When you see what it will provide to the Serbs, without jeopardizing the interests of others, it is clear that the Community will enable greater stability through health, education, financing, the development of our communities; the use of the resources we have in municipalities with a Serb-majority. Now we are faced with attacks and repression because we do not have enough protection mechanisms. You see what is happening in relation to expropriation, what court proceedings are being conducted, and the case of Ivan Todosijevic... All this must be resolved through wider autonomy, which should be obtained through the CSM," Jevtic said.

He is convinced that Washington had the most opportunities to influence the Albanian representatives to implement some things, because, he says, he is still skeptical about the CSM, that is, he is not sure that Kurti will eventually start the formation of the CSM.

"I would like him to deny me. As Escobar said, there was a lot of work ahead. I recently stayed in Washington, and I noticed different tones; I saw that the situation toward Serbia is different. This is mostly the merit of President Vucic, who managed to gain trust through wise politics and, above all, honest relations. Now the attitude of the US towards this issue is different. Should we be sure that it will remain like this - we must not forget the attitude of the US towards the issue of Kosovo. What is current is that the relationship has changed due to the actions of Kurti, who has shown to be someone who is not ready to approach this process in a constructive way. They don't want to see a constant emphasis on new conditions in Washington," Jevtic said.

Commenting on the statements of Rada Trajkovic, who is an adviser to the Minister of Returns in the Kosovo government, Nenad Rasic, Jevtic said that she was doing great harm to Serbian interests and position in the dialogue process.

"When we talk about Rada Trajkovic, I have to say that she is currently Kurti's spokesperson based in Belgrade. Everything she says, Kurti tells her. If anyone understands the migration of the Serbs, it is certainly Trajkovic, and everything she did is proof If you see how many votes she has, and how many votes Vucic has from the Serbs, you will get the answer to who the Serbs trust," Jevtic said.

According to him, the task of Trajkovic, as well as certain opposition representatives in Belgrade, is to "harm the interests of the Serbs".

"These are clear messages that we are all on the right path to, in difficult circumstances, still win what is most important for the survival of the Serbs," Jevtic said.
