Mayor of Strpce, Dalibor Jevtic, expressed full support for the Serbs in northern Kosovo following today's protest in North Mitrovica.

Jevtic stated on Facebook that he fully understands the difficult position of the citizens in the north and the fact that they, along with all Serbs in those areas, are subjected to terror and institutional violence by Albin Kurti's regime.

"Today, the Serbian people, wherever they live, sympathize with and fully support their brothers and sisters in the north of Kosovo. Today's protest in North Mitrovica was not the first, and I believe it will not be the last, protest by the Serbs in Kosovo with a clear message that we want to live in peace and not be deprived of basic human rights in the heart of Europe," said Jevtic, who is also the vice president of the Serbian List.

He added that it is clear to everyone that as the election day approaches, Kurti will use various methods of institutional violence against the Serbian people.

"The regime in Pristina has not achieved any results in its work; from the economy to infrastructure, Kurti has faced only defeats. All that remains is for him to secure another mandate to implement his ethno-nationalist policy, a policy of ethnic cleansing conducted without firing a single shot through methods of arrests, intimidation, seizure of private property, and deprivation of rights of one nation," Jevtic noted.

He added that, for these reasons, national unity is needed, regardless of possible political differences.

"It is no secret that a key part of Kurti's strategy, in addition to the mentioned methods, is to create a Serbian-Serbian conflict, blaming the Serbs themselves, the Serbian state, and above all, President Vucic, for all the bad things happening to the Serbian people in Kosovo. It is therefore encouraging that representatives of all Serbian political parties in Kosovo, who are against Kurti's terror and have seen through his tactic of creating a Serbian-Serbian conflict, were present at today's protest. As for those 'Serbs' who are in power with Kurti and who support the policy of violence against Serbs, who have raised their hands and voted for the usurpation of Serbian private property and for many harmful decisions against the interests of the Serbian people, I will not waste words on them," said Jevtic.

He emphasized that Serbs have never been accustomed to withdrawing in the face of problems or lamenting over hardships and challenges.

"Those who see our peaceful protests and calls for peace as a weakness are greatly mistaken. When we look back at what we have endured since Kurti came to power – arrests, shootings of our children, wounding of our compatriots, seizure of Serbian properties, banning the use of the dinar, closing our institutions – and yet we have not been broken, today's message of unity is the best possible response! Therefore, it is the duty of every Serb in Kosovo to, despite the challenges and difficult position, stand up and clearly and loudly say they do not accept the dictatorship from Pristina," Jevtic stressed.

He added that nothing good has ever come from Kurti, nor is it expected today.

"However, what worries us is the passivity of the representatives of the international community. Statements and 'written condemnations' have neither helped nor stopped Kurti's terror. The greatest absurdity is that Kurti calls for 'opening bridges,' for 'bridges of cooperation and coexistence,' while he has destroyed all the bridges of trust built so far with his ethno-nationalist policy! Kurti is lying to you, gentlemen from the international community! He lies, and you know it well! He is neither for European values nor does he want a multiethnic society in Kosovo! He wants an ethnically pure Kosovo as a precondition for fulfilling his political goal, which is called Greater Albania," Jevtic said.

He wished all Serbs that this fight against Kurti's regime is not a matter of politics but a matter of life.

"Do not believe those who tell you that the state of Serbia or the Serbian List, as the largest party of Serbs in Kosovo, is to blame for all the bad things happening to us. That narrative came from Albin Kurti's political kitchen, a manipulator who tasked his services with spreading the same narrative among the Serbian people. Let's oppose this with our unity, for our unity has always been and will be our greatest strength. From Strpce to Leposavic, from Gorazdevac through Gracanica to Ranilug, north and south, we must be as one. Our unity will defeat the devil," concluded Jevtic.
