Jevtic: Serbian people's position in Kosovo and Metohija has never been more difficult

The vice-president of the Serb List, Dalibor Jevtic, said that the last night in Kosovo was tense after the latest moves by Pristina, which aim was to expel the Serbian people from their homes, as he pointed out for RTV.

Jevtic said he was in Mitrovica yesterday and he saw that people were upset.

"The most important thing is to preserve the peace, and the Serbian people will persist in this regardless of all the pressures, but that does not mean that we will suffer those pressures without a democratic and decisive response," Jevtic told TV Prva.

He emphasized that the Serbs in Kosovo had been living in difficult circumstances for decades but that the position of the Serbian people had never been more difficult due to everything that the government in Pristina was doing.

Jevtic pointed out that Serbs in Kosovo are encouraged by what official Belgrade, especially President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, was doing and that Serbs from Kosovo only trust President Vucic and the Government of Serbia.

"President Vucic communicates with us daily, and he is doing everything to preserve peace," Jevtic noted.

He added that from what happened in the previous days, he was particularly disturbed by the presence of the Kosovo Police special units in the kindergarten in Leposavic and by the scenes in the Petrovic winery in Velika Hoca.

Speaking about that family's wine confiscation, Jevtic pointed out that depriving someone of what they lived on, was Pristina's message that it did not want to see those people in the territory of Kosovo.

Jevtic emphasized that Pristina was trying to present all Serbs as criminals and that the goal was to intimidate Serbs even more so that they would leave Kosovo.
