Joseph: Team Biden fed up with Albin Kurti, after Dinar fiasco they are praising Vucic

John Hopkins University professor Edward Joseph pointed out that the administration of American President Joseph Biden is fed up with Prime Minister Albin Kurti and that after his "fiasco" with the cancellation of the dinar, Washington is once again praising Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.

Joseph on the social network "X" listed a series of events that preceded this attitude of the USA.

He recalled that in May of last year, Kurti forcibly appointed mayors in the north.

"Kurti forcibly installs Mayors in the north; Serbs attack KFOR, wounding dozens.  Kurti swiftly blamed while Vucic hailed as a partner. Result: two weeks later, Serbian special units abduct three Kosovo police officers in brazen violation of Kumanovo Agreement," Joseph stated.

He then points out that on September 14, Kurti was blamed by Josep Borrell for the failure of the Brussels negotiations despite, as he states, the repeated, open annulment of the Ohrid Agreement by Belgrade, including the Council of Europe.

The result, he adds, is that ten days later, "heavily armed Serbian militia moves to Banjska, causing a fatal confrontation".

He reminds that on December 17, Serbia held parliamentary elections, which, he says, were severely criticized by the opposition, domestic and international observers.

"The reaction of the American embassy: 'We look forward to cooperation with the new government.' Vucic, Brnabic thank Russia and, with Russian Ambassador, blame the US for election protests. Focused on election fallout, Vucic drops objection to Kosovo license plates," Joseph wrote.

This year, on February 14, he continued, the US Assistant Secretary of State made a "threat" to no longer treat Kosovo as a partner.

"He suggested that Vulin's resignation (and others from the prosecutor's office) are an adequate responsibility for Banjska," he believes.

According to him, on February 15, the US Secretary of State confirmed a "strategic partnership" with Serbia.

"US officials do not grasp the signal – of fear and weakness – that they are sending to Belgrade when Americans lash out at Pristina. Vucic will – correctly – dismiss ‘behind the scenes’ warnings, if they are even being made. Election controversies will make Kosovo controversies even more attractive", Joseph concluded.
