Djuric replied to Joseph: You are omitting the facts, Kurti is using the tragedy of Ukraine to create an escalation in Kosovo
Serbian Ambassador to the USA Marko Djuric says that he clearly sees the pattern of the government of Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, who used the tragedy in Ukraine to create a cycle of escalation in the heart of the Balkans.
This is how Djuric replied to Edward Joseph, a professor at the Graduate School of International Studies at Johns Hopkins University in Washington, who stated that the manner in which the tensions in the north of Kosovo were overcome did not ensure stability, but called for continued instability and that a certain lull can be expected until, as he stated, the Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic did not conclude that he needed a crisis in Kosovo again.
"Having dealt with the crises in Kosovo, (perhaps a couple more of them than Edward Joseph) I see a clear pattern in the behavior of the Kurti’s government since February 24th. Albin Kurti is methodically exploiting the tragedy in Ukraine, creating cycle after cycle of dangerous escalations in the heart of the Balkans. His attempt is aimed at creating a wedge between Serbia and the West by destabilizing the situation and creating "deliverables" for his radical nationalist agenda. His algorithm (or perhaps not his, as many Albanian intellectuals rightly note) is simple - to take unilateral measures to pressure the Serbs beyond the boiling point," Djuric wrote on Twitter.
The Serbian ambassador then stated what "Kurti's algorithm" looks like.
"Ban Serbs from voting in general elections. Instead of forming the agreed and signed Community of Serb-majority Municipalities, build 7 new illegal paramilitary bases in Serb majority municipalities. Dismiss local Kosovo Serb police commanders and officers, humiliate, arrest, label, harass and intimidate ordinary civilians beyond the boiling point. Respond to peaceful protests with violence, belligerent rhetoric and further public renouncing of the Brussels Agreement, eliminating hope for any peaceful outcome in the future. Oh, and yes, invest the taxpayers' money of the people of Kosovo in expensive lobbying. Now, I really wonder how come you omit all these facts in your "analysis", esteemed Mr. Edward Joseph", wrote Djuric on Twitter and added at the end "P.S. A big thank you to all those in the US and the international community seeing through the twisted firestarter".
