Belgzim Kamberi, associate at the "Musine Kokalari" Institute, told Kosovo Online that Vjosa Osmani is not a politician who would easily give up her political career, and it remains to be seen how she will continue it after her term as President of Kosovo ends. He also points out that the political context in Kosovo is different from 2021, when Osmani was elected president.

"Osmani, it seems, no longer has the same constructive relationship she once had with Albin Kurti, the leader of the largest party in Kosovo. Also, it remains to be seen which members of the former opposition would now be willing to support her for a second term, given that Osmani was elected with the support of Albin Kurti, but also with the indirect support of Lumir Abdixhiku, who at the time enabled a quorum in the Kosovo Assembly," Kamberi stated.

According to his assessment, it won’t be easy for Osmani to secure a second term, but he also points out that it will not be easy for the parties currently holding seats in the new session of the Kosovo Assembly to elect a new president either, given the number of MPs they have.

"The situation is still uncertain, but it seems that things are tighter for Ms. Osmani today than they were five years ago," Kamberi believes.
