Elections on Sunday, April 23, in the municipalities in the north of Kosovo would be secured by the Kosovo Police, and KFOR continued to monitor the situation and maintained a high level of readiness of its units to face any possible scenario, KFOR said for Kosovo Online.

When asked by Kosovo Online whether the Kosovo Police had asked for help from KFOR to maintain security during tomorrow's elections in four municipalities in the north of Kosovo, KFOR said that they expected the institutions in Kosovo to deal with the situation effectively.

"The NATO mission remains fully focused on the day-to-day implementation of its mandate - based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 from 1999 - to ensure a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement for all communities in Kosovo," KFOR emphasized.
