Kosovo Police: Visit to the north aimed to review coordination of activities with KFOR
The Kosovo Police said that the purpose of yesterday's visit to northern Kosovo was to review cooperation and coordination between police units and KFOR regarding the “monitoring of the green and blue lines.”
According to a statement by the Kosovo Police, new KFOR Commander Roberto Vergori and Admiral George Wikoff, Commander of NATO's Allied Joint Force Command Naples, visited police units and joint police and KFOR patrol units in northern Kosovo on Thursday, accompanied by Kosovo Police Director Gazmend Hoxha and Border Department Director Fehmi Xhata.
“During the visit, the existing cooperation between the Kosovo Police and KFOR was commended, with particular emphasis on the importance of joint patrols, information sharing and coordination on the ground, aimed at monitoring the border and strengthening security,” the police said.
The participants highlighted the importance of continued interinstitutional cooperation and coordination as an important contribution to maintaining a safe environment, peace and stability, as well as the security of all citizens.
“The Kosovo Police remains committed to fulfilling its legal mandate and strengthening cooperation with KFOR and international partners in order to preserve security and stability in the Republic of Kosovo,” the statement added.
