Krasniqi: Kosovo remained unrecognized, but received the CSM
The leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Memli Krasniqi, assessed tonight that in Brussels, where a new round of dialogue had been held at the highest level between Kosovo and Serbia, what that party had warned about happened, namely that "Kosovo lost its recognition, and received by the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities".
"What we warned about happened. Conditions and positions melted before the personal interests and ambitions for the power of Prime Minister Albin Kurti. Kosovo lost its recognition and gained the Community. It must be said loudly and clearly - it is already official and evident that the European proposal does not envisage mutual recognition, as the main criterion for the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia and the opening of a European perspective for our country," Krasniqi wrote on Facebook.
As he added, there was no question of recognizing Kosovo by the five EU countries, which did not recognize it, nor of opening the way to NATO membership, or of obtaining the status of a candidate for EU membership.
"For two years in a row, we have supported Prime Minister Kurti regarding relations with Serbia. We encouraged him to coordinate with our international allies, and we offered him concrete proposals regarding a final mutual recognition agreement at the center. Ignoring all the help and advice that came from us, directly and contrary to the interests of Kosovo, Kurti, with wrong actions and policies, irreversibly degraded the dialogue process," Krasniqi wrote.
With that, he adds, Kurti enabled the absence of a final agreement, the focus of which would have been mutual recognition, and brought the country an interim agreement with a focus on the CSM.
"In addition to the enormous increase in the number of people leaving Kosovo, due to bad management, Kurti tonight also reduced the sovereignty of our country. Therefore, February 27, 2023, for Kosovo, with Prime Minister Albin Kurti, marks a lost opportunity for our country to end the frozen conflict with Serbia forever," Krasniqi wrote.
