Krasniqi: The situation in Kosovo is not normal; extraordinary parliamentary elections are needed

The leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Memli Krasniqi, has reiterated the demand for the holding of extraordinary parliamentary elections in Kosovo due to the crisis caused by Prime Minister Albin Kurti.

Krasniqi made this statement during a meeting with Sweden's Ambassador Westerlund.

"The difficult situation that Kosovo is currently facing and the weakening of relations with international allies as a result of the crises caused by Prime Minister Albin Kurti are the views that I expressed today to the Swedish Ambassador in Kosovo, whom I received at the headquarters of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, where we discussed the political events in the country," Krasniqi wrote on Facebook.

Krasniqi stated that he had reiterated the position of the PDK regarding the holding of extraordinary parliamentary elections because, as he said, the situation in Kosovo is abnormal.

"I also informed the ambassador about other decisions made at the PDK Executive Committee meeting, which include the suspension of official communication with Prime Minister Albin Kurti and President Vjosa Osmani, as well as the decision not to vote on any laws, resolutions, international agreements, or other documents in any session of the Kosovo Assembly. The PDK remains committed to maintaining and strengthening good relations with our international partners," Krasniqi stated.
