Krieziu: The MPs' task was to constitute the parliament; the consequence is loss of mandate and elections

Former judge of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo, Kadri Krieziu, speaking about the next steps after the failure to constitute the Assembly of Kosovo within the deadline set by the Constitutional Court, says that now President Vjosa Osmani, together with the Constitutional Court and the Central Election Commission, has the obligation to prepare early elections “from a technical standpoint.”
"The decision of the Constitutional Court is law, which means that the MPs had the task to constitute the parliament within 30 days. This decision has consequences, in the form of loss of mandate, because they were unable to constitute the parliament, which is required by the Constitution," Krieziu told Kosovo Online.
He believes that since the deadline set by the Constitutional Court has expired, the MPs must lose their mandates and early elections must be held.
