Executive Director of the Kosovo Democratic Institute, Ismet Krieziu, emphasized that the targeting of judges of the Election Complaints and Appeals Panel (ECAP) by politicians and deputies of Self-Determination prior to the decision on the certification of the Serb List is unacceptable.

In a Facebook post, Krieziu wrote that the targeting, publication, and exposure of ECAP judges by Self-Determination politicians and deputies constitutes an unacceptable act of blackmail, threats, and political pressure.

“This action represents a flagrant interference in institutional independence and a direct blow to the integrity of judges and the judiciary. Moreover, bearing in mind that ECAP is a panel composed of judges, any pressure on it directly undermines the credibility and integrity of the electoral process,” Krieziu stated, as reported by Nacionale.

Meanwhile, Self-Determination MP Arber Rexhaj published on Facebook the list of members of the Election Complaints and Appeals Panel, who will decide whether the Serb List will be certified for the local elections or not.

“The fate of Kosovo is now in the hands of three judges chosen by lot from these 10 ECAP judges. Do you recognize any of them?” Rexhaj wrote, attaching the ECAP link with the names of the judges.

The same was done by MP Adriana Matoshi, who wrote that “this historic moment depends on three ECAP judges.”

“There is no greater patriotic act than the non-certification of the Serb List. This historic moment is in the hands of three ECAP judges! In such cases, it is good to remember Afrim Bunjaku and Enver Ziberi,” Matoshi wrote.
