Kurti: The so-called Community would be a fatal blow to Kosovo's Constitution
Kosovo's Prime Minister Albin Kurti has stated that the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities would be a fatal blow to Kosovo's Constitution, as reported by Koha.
Kurti emphasized that it was not coincidental that the Constitutional Court has ruled that some provisions of the CSM statute were in conflict with the Constitution.
"The Association of Municipalities with a Serbian majority (the so-called Serbian Community) would be a deadly blow to our constitution. Therefore, it's not coincidental that our Constitutional Court found that 23 articles of its proposed statute are in contradiction with our constitution," Kurti said during his participation in the Peace Conference organized by the Association "Everything for the Republic," Sorbonne Pantheon University, the Hyland Center for Global Studies at UBT, and the Albanian Diaspora Business Network.
Speaking about Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Kurti mentioned that "his government is implementing administrative ethnic cleansing in municipalities with Albanian majorities in Serbia, removing the addresses of local Albanians from municipal records."
"Aleksandar Vucic, a disciple of Vojislav Seselj and the Minister of Information (meaning propaganda) for Slobodan Milosevic during the 1990s, is seeking to establish an ethnocratic juridical-political entity within Kosovo to render our republic dysfunctional. He does not believe in the idea of liberal-democratic citizenship. That is why he wants the installment and control of such an entity within Kosovo at the same time," Kurti stated.
