Lajcak announced a visit to the US: Take immediate steps towards de-escalation in the north of Kosovo
Miroslav Lajcak, Special Envoy for dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, says that at the Prespa Forum for dialogue in North Macedonia, the situation in the north was the main topic of all discussions and that it is necessary to take immediate steps towards de-escalation.
Lajcak stated on Facebook that during this week he had informed the NATO and EU ambassadors about the situation in the north and emphasized that it was necessary to take the steps towards de-escalation.
"Earlier this week, I informed my colleagues in Brussels about my recent joint visit to the region, the current situation, and the way forward. During my visit to the NATO headquarters, I also met with NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoana; we discussed the situation in the north of Kosovo. We both agreed that it is necessary to take urgent steps for de-escalation. I further emphasized this point while addressing the NATO and EU ambassadors," Lajcak pointed out.
He announced a visit to America, where he would discuss the resolution of the crisis with his partners.
"I will head to Washington at the invitation of my partners from the US. We will have intensive discussions about the way forward and the immediate next steps," Lajcak said.
