EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue Miroslav Lajcak said that the upcoming meeting in Brussels, which would be held on February 27 at the highest political level, was significant and that the next steps and the acceptance of proposals supported by all EU members and the US depended on the parties' positions, Blic reports.

Lajcak reminded that since September, they had been talking with the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, and the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti and that one of them said in January, and the other in February, that they accepted the European proposal in principle.

"The time has come now for them to officially and publicly accept the proposal and then discuss its implementation," Lajcak said for Tanjug.

It is important that the parties formally and publicly accept it, as he added, and that other details are discussed.

Lajcak states that if both sides reject the proposal, it would send a negative signal that they are not ready to normalize relations and go the European way.

"Everyone knows what we expect from the meeting, everyone knows where we stand," Lajcak said.
