Mijacic: By confiscating the land of the SOC, Kosovo prevents the normalization of relations with Serbia
Coordinator of the National Convention for Chapter 35, Dragisa Mijacic, reacted to media reports about the occupation of approximately 50 acres of land where the foundations of the medieval Church of the Mother of God in Hvosno from the 13th century are located and emphasized that, by this act, the Kosovo Government had once again shown its intention to destroy the multi-ethnic character of Kosovo and prevent any attempts at inter-ethnic tolerance and reconciliation.
Mijacic, on the social network "X", stated that this concerned the remains of one of the oldest medieval Serbian Orthodox churches in Kosovo.
By deciding to seize the land around this sanctuary owned by the Serbian Orthodox Church, Mijacic points out that the Kosovo Government has taken another step in preventing any efforts towards the normalization of relations with Serbia.
"With this act, the Kosovo Government has once again shown its intention to destroy the multi-ethnic character of Kosovo and prevent any attempts at inter-ethnic tolerance, reconciliation, and peaceful coexistence. This is another step in preventing any efforts towards the normalization of relations with Serbia," Mijacic emphasized.
He stresses that this decision by the Kosovo Government serves as a reminder to all those who have recognized Kosovo of the promise to work towards building a multi-ethnic and democratic society. They have, for years, fostered the affirmation of Kosovo's independence and have a historical and moral obligation towards the Serbs living in Kosovo.
