Minister Aliu: Kosovo is a temporary project; the union of Albanians in one state creates stability
Infrastructure Minister Liburn Aliu says that Kosovo is a temporary project without a complete identity because, according to him, Kosovo is still insecure with its multi-ethnic identity, and he adds that the union of Albanians in one state creates stability, RTK reports.
"Kosovo is under constant threat from Serbia, and if it weren't for the danger from Serbia, I wouldn't see Kosovo as a temporary project," Aliu said on RTK.
He emphasizes that the union of Albanians would bring stability because, according to him, Kosovo cannot rely on the presence of KFOR.
"When we talk about long-term and stable solutions, we cannot rely on the presence of KFOR today because it is unknown how things will unfold. Given the danger from Serbia, the best solution, and certainly for stability, is the union," he said.
According to him, as long as Serbia instrumentalizes Kosovo Serbs for its needs, Kosovo society will not be multi-ethnic but rather multi-ethnic Serbian.
"The intention for the Association is to have a mono-national society within Serbian municipalities, i.e., Serbs, and outside of them, a multi-ethnic and Serbian society," Aliu stated.
He also says that there cannot be a multi-ethnic society and the Association, adding that Albanians have the right to live together, and with that, the confrontation with any situation that Serbia might pose to them would be stronger.
