The head of the parliamentary group of the PDK, Abelard Tahiri, at the joint session of the parliaments of Albania and Kosovo on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of Albania's independence, stated that the former leaders of the KLA, who had been accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity, were unjustly held in The Hague, saying that the future of Albania and Kosovo is the unification in perspective, Ekonomija online reports.

"Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi, Rexhep Selimi, and other comrades are living heroes of our freedom and independence, who today are unfairly taken away from us. But as we never doubted our freedom, we do not doubt that they will still be among us and that the truth will win over lies and justice over injustice. Nothing and no one can change the history we made with blood and sacrifice. We are forever grateful to Albania that was with us when justice seemed impossible, and we are very grateful to Albania that is with us even today when we have to do the impossible, for the truth to come to light. What our ancestors started in Prizren in 1878, was defined in Valona in 1912 and concluded in the Prekaz in 1998," Tahiri said.

Tahiri stated that the future of Albania and Kosovo is joint, "unification in perspective".

"Unification in perspective; unification in development and progress. United in our common Euro-Western values, close to each other, open to our neighbors, ready to leave the past behind, in a permanent alliance with the US, and integrated into NATO and the European family. It does not have to be a union on the map. This is our path and our future. This is our mission and common goal. And we must not refrain from this mission at any cost and under no condition, and we must never allow it to be obscured by internal political divisions. I, together with the Democratic Party of Kosovo, believe in such a future. We are convinced that the people of Kosovo and Albania believe in such a future," Tahiri said.
