Muhaxhiri: Osmani cannot impose a solution, but she can request the Constitutional Court’s opinion

Political analyst Artan Muhaxhiri told Kosovo Online that, in the current situation where the constitution of the parliament is blocked, President Vjosa Osmani does not have the political power to impose a solution, but that she could play a very important role by referring the matter to the Constitutional Court and requesting its opinion.

"This is the best way to resolve the blockade, and if the same situation were to occur again in the future, we would already have a solution. We had a similar deadlock in 2014, and it was resolved by the Constitutional Court at that time," Muhaxhiri said.

He added that he does not believe political parties would heed Osmani’s proposals if she were to make any, but that the situation would be different if she sought the Constitutional Court’s opinion.

"That would be the best course of action on her part, not only for the current situation but also for the future," Muhaxhiri said, emphasizing that both the political spectrum and the citizens are losing out because of the current situation.
