The basic court in Mitrovica ordered a 30-day detention for Nebojsa Virijevic from Lesak near Leposavic, who was arrested yesterday, because on Wednesday he protested with his fellow citizens against the attempt of Deputy Minister for Communities and Return Radojica Radomirovic to enter the municipal building, Nebojsa Vlajic, Virijevic’s lawyer has confirmed for Kosovo Online.

Vlajic concluded that 30 days of detention is a baseless and excessive measure and announced that he would file an appeal on Monday.

"It is really an excessively and unnecessarily strict decision. It is about a matter in which the central government should not interfere, which political option will whistle, which does not need the central government to judge, and to favor and protect some to the extent that these others are ordered to be detained," said Vlajic.

This case, as he says, is not for court.

Nebojsa Virijevic was arrested yesterday on charges of criminal threats.

Virijevic, together with numerous citizens and public institutions’ employees, has been protesting in front of the municipal building in Leposavic for three months against the imposition of illegitimately elected authorities, and he was also among the crowd that on Wednesday booed Radomirovic, who tried to enter the building with a group of ten people.
