Nikaj: Negative turn of events for Kosovo, Stoltenberg's statement result of government's lack of coordination

Democratic Party of Kosovo MP Bernard Nikaj has stated that the statement by NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, emphasizing the need for coordination with the Alliance even for the deployment of special police forces to northern Kosovo, was a direct result of the lack of coordination and actions by the Kosovo Government in late May of this year, resulting in a crisis, as reported by Klan Kosova.
Nikaj pointed out that this was related to NATO's efforts to secure a safe environment and ensure coordination among security forces, including the Kosovo Police Special Forces and KFOR troops in Kosovo, to avoid elements of violence.
"This is a negative turn of events for Kosovo because NATO has never before requested that the Kosovo Police or the Special Forces of the Kosovo Police seek permission or coordinate with KFOR in cases of intervention in the northern parts of Kosovo," Nikaj stated.
He emphasized that it represented a step backward because, as he said, it raises doubts about NATO's trust in the desire and willingness of the Kosovo Government to coordinate with KFOR troops and the Alliance.
