The Chairwoman of the Committee on Kosovo and Metohija in the Serbian Parliament, Danijela Nikolic, stated—regarding the summons for questioning issued to members and the president of the Serb List—that “Albin Kurti’s terror is each day taking on the proportions of a desperate man who will stop at nothing to score a few points with his people amidst the total collapse of a policy that essentially does not exist.”

The hearing of Serb List President Zlatan Elek, originally scheduled for tomorrow, has been postponed indefinitely due to his lawyer’s health condition; however, Elek himself was prepared to respond to the summons.

Nikolic emphasized that Elek’s decision to respond to the prosecutor’s summons is yet another form of Serbian resistance and support for all Serbs who have been falsely accused, many of whom are imprisoned.

She also noted that Kurti’s terror—which, she said, “the international community and the EU’s so-called mission of ‘law’ in Kosovo continue to ignore”—cannot break the Serbian resistance.

Nikolic added that Elek is a respected citizen and physician, without a blemish in his private or professional life, who chose a path of humanity and, in line with that commitment, honorably defends the interests of his people. As a doctor, regardless of ethnic affiliation, he has dedicated his professional life to caring for the youngest patients.

“It is evident that no one is standing in Kurti’s way, nor in the way of his ongoing efforts to expel the remaining Serbs from Kosovo. The court summonses Kurti’s judiciary sends to Serbs—while he himself ignores such procedures—reveal the stark contrast between the representatives of the Serbian people and their courage, resolve, and integrity, which cannot be said of the other side and its politically amateurish conduct,” Nikolic concluded.
