Office for Kosovo and Metohija: Arrest of Momir Pantic is a tried and tested mechanism of intimidation by Pristina against Serbs
The Office for Kosovo and Metohija stated regarding last night's arrest of a Serb at the Merdare administrative crossing, who Pristina accused of alleged war crimes, that it was a tried and tested mechanism of intimidation against Serbs.
"Yesterday, at the Merdare administrative crossing, members of Kurti's Kosovo Police arrested Momir Pantic, a Serb who was internally displaced from Kosovo and Metohija. Momir used to live in Metohija, Istok, but was displaced to Mladenovac after the conflict. He was supposed to collect documentation regarding his property in Istok at Merdare yesterday, but instead, he was arrested and taken to Pristina," the statement from the Office for Kosovo and Metohija reads.
As they added, the Office immediately engaged a lawyer for Pantic, who is in contact with his family. According to the lawyer's information, Pantic's hearing is expected to take place today.
"Using this tried and tested mechanism of intimidation, Pristina arrests Serbs under the pretext of alleged war crimes, pre-judges them, and sends them an unequivocal message that they are neither welcome nor wanted on their ancestral hearths. Metohija has been nearly completely ethnically cleansed of Serbs due to the heinous acts of the so-called KLA, and the remaining Serbs or returnees today face house burnings, break-ins, arrests, and intimidation in every possible way," the Office for Kosovo and Metohija stated.
