A Serb arrested at Merdare for alleged war crimes

A Serb, M.P., was arrested last night at the Merdare administrative crossing on allegations of war crimes in Kosovo in 1998 and 1999.
The arrest was confirmed by M.P.'s defense attorney, Nebojsa Vlajic, who stated that he would visit his client in Pristina today and would have more information about the case afterward.
According to Vlajic, the arrested individual lives in central Serbia and has visited Kosovo before without any issues.
Earlier, the Kosovo Police announced on Facebook that the arrested person had been the police chief in Istok during the war.
Upon the prosecutor's decision, the suspect has been held for up to 48 hours.
The police stated that his arrest had been conducted in cooperation with the Kosovo Intelligence Agency (KIA).
