Kosovo Police raided the Directorates for Construction Land and Housing Affairs in North Mitrovica

This morning, members of the Kosovo Police raided the premises of the Directorate for Construction Land and the Directorate for Housing Affairs in North Mitrovica, which operate within the Serbian system.

As Kosovo Online learns, around 70 employees from these two directorates were forced out onto the street by the police.

Deputy Commander of the Kosovo Police for the northern region, Veton Elshani, stated that they received a report from the municipality of North Mitrovica that the premises in this building belong to the municipality of North Mitrovica.

“When we arrived, we found workers here, and we suspect that a parallel institution was operating in this building. The police are on the scene together with the prosecutor, and for now, this case is being treated as the issuance of forged documents. We have spoken with the workers, and they could retrieve their personal belongings. From now on, this building is under the control of the police and the prosecution until further notice,” Elshani said.
