Office for Kosovo and Metohija: The liaison officer's request to visit Trajkovic and Adzic was rejected

The authorities in Pristina refused the liaison officer Dejan Pavicevic's request to visit the arrested Serbs Sladjan Trajkovic and Miljan Adzic in prison in Podujevo, which is why the Office for Kosovo and Metohija sent a letter of protest to the mediator in the dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, with the request to allow the visit.

Since the arrest of Adzic and Trajkovic, Pavicevic has made several requests for a visit in order to make sure of the conditions in which they are and if their rights are respected.

According to the statement of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, he sent the latest request on February 23 through the legal representative of the arrested persons.

However, the acting judges forbade his visit with the explanation that "his status is unclear" and that the requests for the visit were not justified.

"In this way, Pristina once again violated the agreements from Brussels and also flagrantly denied the rights of Serbian prisoners Trajkovic and Adzic. The visits to Serbian detainees in Kosovo and Metohija are in accordance with Pavicevic's authorizations, which are defined by the agreement on the liaison officer in Brussels, and it is about the practice that has been applied for years," the statement of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija states.

The Office for Kosovo and Metohija informed the mediator in the dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, about this violation of the agreement and the denial of the rights of the Serbian detainees, with a letter of protest, and with a clear insistence that, with his authority and function, he should enable compliance with the agreement and request Pristina to allow a visit to the detainees by the Serbian liaison officer.
