Office for Kosovo and Metohija: Members of Kurti's Kosovo Police harassed medical workers from Strpce

The Office for Kosovo and Metohija announced that members of the Kosovo Police had harassed doctors and medical staff from the Strpce Health Center during a field intervention.

"They transported two young individuals injured in a traffic accident in Strpce to Kosovska Mitrovica using an ambulance. Upon their return, near Vucitrn, they were stopped by the Kosovo Police with sirens on, treating them as if they were the most notorious criminals," the Office stated.

According to the statement, the police forced the healthcare workers to exit the vehicle in the middle of the night, searched the vehicle, and then subjected them to rough questioning about their licenses and work permits, accompanied by insults and threats such as "this is not Serbia, this is the state of Kosovo," and messages indicating they would no longer be able to work, wanting to seize their vehicle.

As testified by the medical personnel who experienced this harassment, such acts of abuse are becoming increasingly frequent. Doctors are being stopped without any reason, even while transporting patients. This is already the second time in a few days that their colleagues have been intimidated, as the statement further noted.

"Unlike this inhumane and uncivilized behavior, the healthcare workers of the Strpce Health Center have repeatedly transported injured Albanian patients in their ambulances, never differentiating patients based on ethnicity," the Office for Kosovo and Metohija added.
