The Office for Kosovo and Metohija announced that Kosovo's Prime Minister Albin Kurti, with his special police units, is responsible for the arrest of Srecko Sofronijevic from Zvecan. They added that the real instigators and directly responsible for his detention are the United States and the European Union. According to the statement from the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, the USA and EU led Sofronijevic and many other prominent Serbs from northern Kosovo into "Kurti's trap and his dungeons."

"Prishtina charges Srecko Sofronijevic with allegedly violating the so-called constitutional order of so-called Kosovo, simply because he defended his home when ROSU invaded Zvecan on October 13, 2021, threw tear gas at Serbs, and then shot Srecko, who was critically endangered. Srecko Sofronijevic is one of the numerous Serbs who have peacefully and democratically defended their right to life in the past period, but they all have become victims of Kurti's anti-Serb policy. While those who shot at the Serbs and Serbian children are free, Srecko Sofronijevic, who was protecting his child, is now in detention," the Office for Kosovo and Metohija stated.

They added that Serbian resistance to Kurti's tyranny led to peaceful protests and barricades as a cry from the Serbian people for the international community to hear them.

"To be completely precise, on December 28, 2022, the EU and USA provided firm written guarantees to the Serbian leadership that there would be no arrests or persecution of Serbs from northern Kosovo and Metohija for participating in peaceful protests and barricades that were merely defending their homes.

Point four of the mentioned guarantees explicitly states:

We welcome assurances from the leadership of Kosovo who have confirmed that there are no lists of Kosovo Serbs for arrest or prosecution due to participation in peaceful protests/barricades.

Because of these guarantees and the word given by the world's most powerful countries, President Aleksandar Vucic asked the Serbs from northern Kosovo and Metohija to remove the barricades, which they did reluctantly, but listening to their country Serbia and their president, while still warning the whole world that Pristina will not stop and that they will be exposed to brutal persecution," the Office for Kosovo and Metohija reminded.

From that moment, the Office for Kosovo and Metohija emphasized, the unceasing terror and arrests of all prominent Serbs from northern Kosovo continue, while both the European Union and the USA passively watch the persecution of the Serbian people, pretending that December 28, 2022, never happened.

"Because of their lies, deceptions, and hypocrisy, another honorable Serbian head finds itself in Kurti's dungeon, becoming a victim not only of Albin Kurti but also of international forces that think they can play with the lives of our people in the province and trample on the agreements and accords they themselves brought and guaranteed," concluded the Office for Kosovo and Metohija.

According to their words, there is no justice for Serbs in Kosovo.

"Today, we witness that the guarantees and the word of the world's most powerful countries fall before the force and terror of Pristina, and that there is no rights or justice for Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija," the Office for Kosovo and Metohija stated.
