Elshani: Sofronijevic arrested for "overthrowing the constitutional order of Kosovo"
Deputy Commander of the Kosovo Police, Veton Elshani, has confirmed to Kosovo Online that Srecko Sofronijevic from Zvecan has been arrested, and is suspected, as stated, of "overthrowing the constitutional order of Kosovo."
Elshani added that Sofronijevic has been transferred to the police station in South Mitrovica.
"He has been transferred to the South station where he is being investigated and questioned. After that, we will see what happens next," Elshani said.
Srecko Sofronijevic from Zvecan was shot on October 13, 2021, by members of the Kosovo Special Police Forces, and at that time, he was admitted to the Clinical Hospital Center in Kosovska Mitrovica in serious condition.
He underwent surgery and the bullet was removed, and his recovery continued in Belgrade, at the Emergency Center.
Sofronijevic then said that he had hoped such a thing would never happen to any Serb again.
"I want to especially thank my brothers from the north who have been with me the whole time and who are helping me get through this ordeal. God forbid this ever happens to another Serb again, God forbid to children, because when they barged in they didn't think about children, or the elderly, or the young. I want my son and daughter, Savo and Ana, to be able to play like any other children with their peers when they leave the house, without fearing a bullet. Unfortunately, we are accustomed to such a life, but our children are not - that our people live safely, wherever they are, both south and north of the Ibar River. Long live Serbia," Sofronijevic emphasized at the time.
