Opposition: Kurti's Government did nothing positive during the previous year
The opposition parties in Kosovo point out that the executive authority has completely failed in 2022, not offering citizens solutions to the economic and energy crisis but also producing new crises, Koha reports.
The Democratic Party of Kosovo MP Rashit Qalaj said that Kosovo Government hadn't done anything positive in 2022.
"We are faced with numerous problems related to the great crisis that affected Kosovo and all strata. We had and have problems with energy products, with prices that have been raised endlessly. We have had a degradation in the population's economic situation. Today, the citizens of Kosovo are much poorer than a year ago," Qalaj said.
Qalaj noted that the government had not responded or intervened to alleviate the issues.
"I think the Government of Kosovo did nothing positive during the previous year. I could not have foreseen such a weak and incompetent government even in my dreams," Qalaj added.
The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo MP Pal Lekaj says that Kosovo Government for the previous year will be remembered only for creating a crisis.
"There was not a single decision that would benefit the citizens, whether it was economic development, the energy crisis, or the crisis in the north. This government's previous year will be remembered only for its ad hoc attitudes and the creation of crises. It did not solve even the crisis it created in the right way. We are dealing with an energy crisis, and there is no improvement, no alternative. The Parliament declared a state of emergency in that matter more than six times, and the issue remained where it was. Also, as far as economic development is concerned, we have a slowdown, no foreign investments, no employment, even though they declare about 40,000 employees, which is a fraud of Kurti's government," Lekaj said.
As he added, when viewed as a whole, the family economy had decreased too much, and medium-sized enterprises had not developed.
"Let's not talk even about large companies that are almost on the verge of collapse. As an opposition MP in the Assembly of Kosovo, I can say that we are far from what Mr. Kurti promised. It turns out that it was all a fraud," Lekaj stated.
