Orlic: Kurti is carrying out terror against the Serbs; sending support Vucic in the fight for Serbia's interests in the UN
Albin Kurti was carrying out terror against the Serbs in Kosovo and the Greater Albanian policy represents the greatest danger to peace in the region, the President of the Assembly of Serbia, Vladimir Orlic, said today, who, together with the President of the Assembly of the Republika Srpska, Nenad Stevandic, sent support to President Aleksandar Vucic in the fight to protect Serbia's national interests in United Nations.
Orlic and Stevandic signed the Memorandum on the formation of the Parliamentary Forum Republic of Serbia - Republika Srpska, in Belgrade today, which, they agree, has historical significance for further cooperation and additional bonding of the Serbs.
They discussed current issues, including the current situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republika Srpska, and emphasized the importance of consistent compliance with all provisions of the Dayton Agreement. Orlic repeated Serbia's position that it was always ready to support what came as a result of the agreement between the two entities, that is, the three constituent nations, but that it could never accept any imposition of solutions that come from "outside".
"We also talked about the difficult situation for the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, which comes as a result of the open terror carried out by Albin Kurti, who with his Greater Albanian policy not only represents the greatest danger to peace in the region but has also put himself in the active role of destroying any dialogue,“ Orlic said.
He added that President Vucic would have discussions with numerous officials at the United Nations General Assembly in New York about these important issues.
"Today, as presidents of two parliaments, we want to jointly send the strongest support to President Aleksandar Vucic and our state delegation, for the fight he is leading to protect our state and national positions. Our people, both in Serbia and in the Republika Srpska and wherever they live, are always truly proud of that struggle,“ Orlic emphasized.
Stevandic stated that by signing the Memorandum, a joint body would be formed, which would consist of deputies of the two national assemblies and which would sit at least twice a year, and adopt acts that would be sent to both parliaments.
"This is both substantively and formally the largest and most serious document that we are signing and which is not directed against anyone, because it has no other connotation than cooperation, development, nurturing of common values, culture, and tradition, but also supporting each other in protecting both the territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia, as well as the Dayton integrity and capacity and other competences of the Republika Srpska," Stevandic said.
He expressed his gratitude to President Orlic and President Vucic, in his own name and on behalf of the President of the Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, stating that the highest form of cooperation between the legislative bodies had been reached, which for the first time would make joint conclusions and recommendations, and would have their own Rules of Procedure.
