The EU Office in Pristina stated that the raid by the Kosovo Police on the premises of the Republic Health Insurance Fund (RFZO) and the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund (PIO) in North Mitrovica, which are run by Serbia, represents yet another uncoordinated action by the outgoing Kosovo government, and that such actions negatively affect the lives of ordinary citizens, primarily Serbs in Kosovo, but also other communities in Kosovo.
These actions are contrary to Kosovo’s commitments to the EU, the EU Office said in a response to Kosovo Online.
The Office emphasized that the EU has repeatedly stressed that the status of the Serbian community must be addressed in accordance with the EU-led dialogue, the agreements reached within that dialogue, and Kosovo laws.
“The EU calls upon the outgoing Kosovo government and relevant Kosovo institutions to refrain from such provocative and damaging actions and to seek consultations with the local Kosovo Serb community, and international partners alike,” the EU Office in Kosovo added.
