Palokaj: Belgrade is more trustworthy than Lajcak in the dialogue process
Koha's correspondent from Brussels, Augustin Palokaj, says that in the dialogue process between Serbia and Kosovo, Belgrade is more trustworthy than the EU's Special Envoy for the dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, as reported by Telegrafi.
Palokaj made this comment in response to Lajcak's statement that Serbia had withdrawn the letter that former Prime Minister Ana Brnabic had sent to the EU regarding the Franco-German proposal.
"I have said it several times, it is not the first time that in this process, surprisingly, Belgrade is more trustworthy than Lajcak. Belgrade never said it withdrew the letter, Lajcak said the letter was withdrawn. He said that in Pristina. But so far, I haven't found any other source in the EU that believes the letter was withdrawn. Lajcak didn’t clarify what he meant," Palokaj said.
He added that yesterday in Brussels, Lajcak told Kosovo's chief negotiator, Besnik Bislimi, that the letter hadn’t been withdrawn, but that the EU was working on having Serbia withdraw it.
"We are dealing here with manipulation or Lajcak's improvisation to help Serbia because that letter was written proof that Serbia wasn’t ready to take the necessary steps to implement the agreement. On the other hand, there are no consequences for Serbia," Palokaj said.
