Patriarch Porfirije confers with Adviser to the President of the United States

His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Porfirije met today at the Patriarchate in Belgrade with Pastor Mark Burns, spiritual adviser to the President of the United States, Donald Trump.

The meeting, which was also attended by Metropolitan Irinej of Backa and Metropolitan Jovan of Sumadija, was held in a spirit of mutual understanding with the aim of enhancing cooperation between the two Christian countries and the two Christian nations, the Serbian Orthodox Church (SOC) said in a statement.

According to the statement, during his visit to Serbia and the Serbian Orthodox Church, Pastor Burns will visit several Serbian Orthodox monasteries and churches.

Among those attending the meeting were Bishop Ilarion of Novo Brdo, Vicar Bishop; Fay Nemer, Consultant and Chief Executive Officer of the American Chamber of Commerce for the Middle East and North Africa; Goran Petkovic, co-founder of the organization "Serbs for Trump"; Mike Mansour, consultant and Senior Presidential Adviser on Middle East affairs in President Trump's administration; and other participants.
