Members of the so-called Kosovo Police, acting under the direct orders of Albin Kurti, today carried out several coordinated raids on Serbian facilities and institutions in Strpce and Leposavic, thereby continuing the illegal shutdown of the few remaining Serbian institutions in Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, stated.

As he said, "all of this is happening in plain sight of the international community, which silently observes the terror against Serbs and the continued persecution of our people."

"Kurti’s armed henchmen first stormed the New Public Utility Company in Strpce, and then raided the branches of the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund (PIO), the National Employment Service, and the Republic Health Insurance Fund in Leposavic. Employees found on site were subjected to questioning, one of whom in Strpce even fell ill due to the stress. The work of these institutions and branches is essential for thousands of beneficiaries who rely on various forms of assistance and entitlements, and dozens of workers are now at risk," Petkovic said.

He added that "Albin Kurti deliberately chose today to continue his violent, unlawful, and unilateral actions."

"Exactly on the anniversary of the fake elections for fake mayors and occupiers in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, he is carrying out new institutional violence and new escalating unilateral moves. The purpose of today's actions, like the recent unjustified arrests of Serbs, is to mask Kurti’s inability to establish functioning institutions in Pristina, which is why, following a familiar pattern, he targets the Serbs to cover up his own failures," Petkovic emphasized.

He concluded by stating that "Belgrade expects an urgent and unambiguous reaction from the international community, especially from representatives in Brussels."

"With these actions, Kurti is directly endangering the dialogue in Brussels and any possibility of normalizing relations, and through their passivity, the international actors become accomplices in Pristina’s institutional violence and the disenfranchisement of the Serbian people," Petkovic said.
