Kosovo’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Svecla, stated that “no parallel institution of Serbia has a place in Kosovo” after Kosovo police this morning raided the New Public Utility Company in Strpce.

“No parallel institution of Serbia belongs in the Republic of Kosovo. No form of institutional parallelism under the directives of Belgrade will function on the territory of our country,” Svecla declared in a Facebook post.

This morning, the Kosovo Police shut down the New Public Utility Company in Strpce, as well as the offices of the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund (PIO) and the National Employment Service in Leposavic.

Employees of the utility company in Strpce who were inside their offices at the time of the police raid are still inside, while those who were outside the building have been prevented from entering their workplace.
