Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Petar Petkovic said that today's arrest of a former member of the Kosovo Police, Dejan Pantic, is a brutal retaliation and intimidation by Albin Kurti.

"Members of Kurti's Kosovo Police arrested Dejan Pantic, a former member of the Kosovo Police, who left this institution on November 5 together with his colleagues, and who was employed at the police station in Kosovska Mitrovica until then, at the Jarinje administrative crossing today," Petkovic said.

He added that Pantic and his wife went to Raska this morning to run some personal errands, passed the crossing normally, and on the way back, Kurti's police officers handcuffed him and took him to the Kosovo police base near the crossing, according to the latest information.

"It is about brutal retaliation and intimidation by Albin Kurti, who now decided to persecute Serbian policemen to whom, without any basis or evidence, he is trying to attribute acts with which they have nothing to do, in order to try to intimidate all Serbs who do not want to suffer his terror and breach of the agreement. With this, Kurti wants to take revenge on them for leaving all the institutions in the north, including the police," Petkovic stated.

He adds that he informed Miroslav Lajcak about this brutal use of force, retaliation, and intimidation and will also inform all relevant international representatives with a clear request that revenge and retaliation against Serbs must be stopped immediately and that Serbs are guaranteed safety.

"After the invasion and sending his armed units to Kosovska Mitrovica, sending ROSU armored vehicles to the kindergarten in Leposavic, special forces with fingers on the trigger in Velika Hoca, Kurti has now started arresting Serbs, powerless to force them to obey him and return in his institutions," Petkovic said.

Petkovic points out that "it is clear that Kurti wants riots, incidents, a new crisis, and chaos because that's the only way he feeds and thus stays in power, but he won't succeed. Serbs will not be sitting ducks for his crazy moves, he can be sure of that."
