Petkovic: Banjac released after political and diplomatic action by Belgrade
The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, said today that the Kosovo police deliberately wanted to create an atmosphere of threat to the Serbs in Kosovo and, because of this, organized the "kidnapping" of innocent Serbs.
He wrote this on Twitter, commenting on the arrest of Branko Banjac, a pensioner from Belgrade, who was taken into custody by the Kosovo police around noon today in Jarinje.
"Branko Banjac, who was forcibly arrested today in Jarinje, without any explanation or basis, was released after a political and diplomatic action by Belgrade. He was allegedly arrested by a "mistake". Will someone apologize to Branko and his family for the stress they suffered, and answer for that?" Petkovic stated and continued.
"How is it that only the Serbs are arrested by mistake? Such 'kidnaps' of innocent Serbs are a standard method of intimidation by which Kurti's police try to create a general feeling of insecurity among the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija," Petkovic said.
