Petkovic: Kosovo police are detaining Serbs in Kosovo Pomoravlje because of the rally in Belgrade

The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, stated today that the Kosovo police, based on anonymous reports, had detained the director of the Social Welfare Center and the president of the Temporary Council of the Municipality of Kosovska Kamenica for an informative conversation in Kosovo Pomoravlje yesterday.

"In these anonymous reports, it is written that someone forced someone else to attend a rally in Belgrade. However, when we look at the content of these anonymous and false reports, there is nothing mentioned, no one is accused, and no specific pressure is indicated. It is not mentioned because there is no pressure. Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija love the Republic of Serbia and their President Aleksandar Vucic, and all of them want to come and support the President at the rally on May 26," Petkovic emphasized.

Petkovic conveyed that no one is pressuring the Serbs from Kosovo to attend the rally in Belgrade on May 26, but rather they themselves expressed the desire to support President Aleksandar Vucic by attending the "Serbia of Hope" rally because, as he added, in this way they are fighting for their future and a better tomorrow.

During his visit to the group of Serbs from Kosovo Pomoravlje who are walking to Belgrade, in the village of Oresac, at the exit from Smederevo, Petkovic stated that no matter how much Pristina and Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti try to intimidate the Serbs, the will of the Serbs to come in large numbers and support President Vucic is even stronger.

As he added, no pressure is being exerted, neither by officials nor by the Serbian people, the Serb List, or representatives of Serbian institutions.

"Absolutely everyone wants to come and support President Aleksandar Vucic because people know and no one can deceive them that they are fighting for their freedom, for their future, and for a better tomorrow that only President Aleksandar Vucic can provide for them," Petkovic said.

He points out that it is paradoxical that the Kosovo police, which accuses Serbs of exerting pressure, is actually the one exerting pressure and intimidating the Serbs.

"The method of work and intimidation is the same both in Pristina and in the opposition in Belgrade, which obviously uses the same methods as Kurti, claiming to fight against violence while resorting to violence themselves, and those in Pristina claim to fight against pressure when, in fact, they are the ones exerting pressure," Petkovic emphasized.
