A group of 23 Serbs from Kosovo set off on foot this morning from the St. Vasilije Ostroski Church in Leposavic towards Belgrade to attend the unity rally on May 26th, to which President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic had invited.

Serbs from North Mitrovica and Leposavic are carrying Serbian flags, wearing T-shirts that say "For Serbia, for Vucic, Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija," and holding a banner with the same text.

At around 10:30 a.m., they crossed Jarinje, and from there, they conveyed that they embarked on this journey for the survival of the Serbian people in Kosovo.

"Today, for the second time, we are walking to Belgrade to support President Vucic in his efforts to preserve Serbia. This is just a small gesture, from the twelve of us from Leposavic and eleven from Mitrovica. The journey is long, and I wish the guys good health and that we arrive there in nine days for the rally in support of President Vucic," one of the participants, Dejan Marjanovic from Leposavic, said.

His companion, Tomislav Kostic from Mitrovica, added that he hopes to reach Belgrade on time and in good shape.

"We have gathered to show support for Aleksandar Vucic at the rally on May 26th. We hope to overcome all obstacles and reach the rally in good health. We are going on foot to express our gratitude to him and for the survival of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija," Kostic said.

Representatives of Leposavic and North Mitrovica municipalities gathered at the Jarinje crossing to see them off.

They will be walking to the capital city of Serbia through Raska, Usce, Kraljevo, Mrcajevci, Preljina, Ljig, and Stepojevac.
