Petkovic: Kurti dreams of Serbian casualties and Serbs dream of peace and security for their children 

President Aleksandar Vucic made a historic move by initiating the decision made by the Government of Serbia to send a request to the commander of KFOR for the return of our security forces to Kosovo and Metohija in accordance with Resolution 1244 and accompanying documents, the Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Petar Petkovic said.

As Petkovic explained, "thereby, President Vucic became the first official of Serbia to do so and thus stood firmly on the side of respect for international law".

"It is clear that the West does not want to allow the return of our security forces to Kosovo, but with a well-founded and well-argued request, President Vucic has put them in a very awkward situation because they cannot find a simple justification for their refusal, and that is why we are witnessing such procrastination. Whatever the answer is, it is clear to the whole world that the arguments and international law are on our side and there is no dilemma. That is why it is not surprising that even before the answer of the KFOR commander, who is the only one responsible for this, we have already received in public the answers of many Western politicians and ambassadors who they seem to consider themselves KFOR commanders," said Petkovic in an interview with Kurir.

At the same time, the security situation is becoming more and more uncertain for the Serbs in Kosovo, first of all, taking into account at least the harsh messages of Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, such as the one that the barricades will not be able to be removed without casualties. Is there a real danger of physical conflicts and an escalation of the situation?

The Serbs are not the ones causing the incidents, the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija today are the most threatened people in the heart of Europe and they only want peace and respect for the basic rights guaranteed by the agreements reached. First of all, the Serbs are looking for the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities, which Pristina has categorically refused to form for 10 years. Tell me, in what way do our mothers, sisters, teachers, doctors, workers who are at the barricades day and night pose a danger to anyone? Are they holding online classes at the barricades by celebrating Saint Nicholas? Kurti keeps trying to criminalize our people in order to justify his militant dreams of occupying the north and sending armed special units to the teeth, but the Serbs respond calmly and democratically, armed only with their will to survive on their centuries-old hearths. While Kurti dreams of Serbian victims, Serbs dream of peace and security for their children. Serbian mothers in Kosovo and Metohija did not give birth to Kurti drawing a target on their foreheads. Such a scenario will not work for him and let him not play with the Serbian heads and the lives of our people!

And this time, even though Pristina is causing all the tensions, the international community persistently calls on "both sides to calm the tensions". What do you think should happen so that the EU and the West stop unreservedly supporting Pristina and take a more realistic look at the situation?

Western countries will never stop supporting their child, which they christen as the so-called independent Kosovo, and behave like a permissive parent who forgives his child for all transgressions. However, no matter how strong the plan to stigmatize the Serbian people is, the Serbs show their peaceful face to the whole world, and they showed it at the magnificent national meeting near Rudare, when 10,000 of our compatriots from both the south and the north came to say "no" to Kurti's terror. In Pristina, they received the strongest response of Serbian harmony and unity, and this is a reality that everyone should take a good look at.

What can we expect in the coming period? Is the end of this emergency situation in sight at all? Is there a chance that the arrested Serbs will be released? And is the German ambassador's statement that the barricades should be removed by Christmas a message to Pristina as well or only to Belgrade?

Our people neither caused nor wanted this situation, but the patients of the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija disappeared due to Kurti's terror. For two years, Serbs have suffered the most brutal disenfranchisement, they have been deprived of vaccinations, the right to vote, and freedom of movement, ROSU special forces raid their kindergartens while the children are sleeping, they trample on their wine in Velika Hoca, created through torture, they keep our compatriots in modern slavery in the 21st century on the ground. Europe and the whole world was silent. That is why today's situation and the barricades represent the cry of the Serbian people for someone in Europe and the world to hear their suffering, to see their children who go to kindergartens and schools every day with fear, our doctors who are being robbed of ambulances and arrested... You have seen that our people are determined to remain at the barricades, despite all threats and pressures. Maybe some people in the West want to "finish the job by Christmas" and celebrate in the comfort of their homes in peace, but before that, let them think about the families of Adzic and Pantic, whose innocent fathers and wives are kept in Kurti's casemate and for whom there is no celebration or holiday. That is why the Serbs have a minimum demand to free their compatriots, to withdraw the long guns and armored vehicles of the Kosovo Police from the north, with guarantees from KFOR that they will not return there, and the cancellation of the warrant for the arrest of the Serbs who have been at the barricades since September last year. As soon as the minimum of these requirements is met, the Western ambassadors will be able to celebrate as they please.

Kurti's deputy published a list of Serbs for arrest that includes the son and brother of President Vucic?

Albin Kurti personally compiled the list for the arrest of the most visible Serbs in Kosovo, including the family of President Vucic, and that deputy only published it. It shows the extent of Kurti's hatred towards President Vucic, who has never touched anyone's family and would never do so, while his brother Andrej and son Danilo are the obsession of many in Pristina. And have we heard a word of condemnation, a single tweet from a Western ambassador or EU representative dissociating himself from Kurti's attack? Of course we have not and that shows you all the hypocrisy and double standards of the international community. We were just waiting for them to issue a statement that "both sides" refrain from provocations, while Kurti threatens to exterminate the entire Vucic family.
