Petkovic: Kurti wants to keep fake mayors and avoid elections with administrative instructions

The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, says that Pristina's position that local elections in four municipalities in northern Kosovo can only be held based on administrative instructions indicates that Kosovo's Prime Minister Albin Kurti does not want to conduct these elections. He emphasizes that elections are the only solution for immediate de-escalation.

Petkovic points out that Kurti is seeking all possible ways to avoid and postpone the elections because he knows that "the Serbs would put an end to his henchmen."

"The so-called administrative instructions are nothing more than Kurti's way of desperately trying to keep fake mayors and their council members who have occupied the north. Kurti's henchmen, who won 3.5 percent of Albanian votes in the container elections in the north, do not represent anyone and, therefore, have no legitimacy," Petkovic stated, as reported by the Office for Kosovo and Metohija.

As he added, the terror that Kurti has intensified to an unbearable level, especially after these illegitimate elections, aims at the ethnic cleansing of the Serbian people, especially in northern Kosovo.

Due to the unprecedented pressure and violence by the Kosovo Police against Serbs, the only solution for immediate de-escalation is to hold elections in the north, Petkovic emphasizes, adding that elections are the only condition for the immediate withdrawal of Kurti's special police.

"Instead of organizing elections in which Serbs would participate, Kurti has intentionally complicated the situation with his administrative instructions, introducing a senseless procedure that involves some petition, then a referendum declaration, and only then the holding of elections, all with extended time frames. In doing so, Kurti directly deceived representatives of the EU and the US since he publicly promised to organize elections," the director of the government's Office for Kosovo and Metohija stated.

As he concludes, this is not surprising because everyone could see that Kurti is not a peacemaker but a Balkan arsonist who does not want elections in the north and personally ordered his fake mayors not to resign.
