Petković: Kurti’s lies about freedoms allegedly guaranteed to the Serbian people are an insult to every Serb

Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Petar Petkovic stated that Albin Kurti’s fabrications and falsehoods about the freedoms he allegedly guarantees to the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija are an insult to every Serb.

According to the statement, Petkovic emphasized that Kurti is reluctant to go among the Serbs—either because he hates them or because he is ashamed—and that when he does dare to take such a step, he comes as a wolf in sheep’s clothing, with meaningless messages that bear no relation to reality.

“As for how much Serbs are allowed to decide on their representatives and to make political decisions, the most telling evidence is Kurti’s panicked campaign against Serb List, as well as his persistent effort to turn Nenad Rasic—who is anything but a Serbian representative—into a legitimate political figure,” Petkovic noted.

He added that Kurti’s brazenness crossed every line the moment he set foot in the northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica, where Serbian institutions are usurped daily and an occupation policy is enforced. That Kurti himself is aware of this, Petkovic said, is confirmed by the fact that, with his tail between his legs, he fled back to Pristina after only a few minutes of filming and taking photographs.

“Kurti can only dream of any political success in the four municipalities north of the Ibar, because Serbs—justifiably—see him as the culprit for all the hardships they endure. The dismantling of his chauvinistic regime is a clear political goal of every conscious and honorable Serb in northern Kosovo and Metohija,” Petkovic declared.
