Serb List: We have been insisting on Special Forces' withdrawal from the north for months; Delevic's wounding was the last straw

The Serb list announced that the burst fire by Albin Kurti's special forces on the Serbs at the illegal checkpoint on the bridge near the Bistrica river, in which Miljan Delevic was seriously wounded, was the last straw after a series of attacks on Serbs since New Year's.

"After a member of the so-called Kosovo Security Forces shot Serbian children in Strpce on Christmas Day, today Kurti's special forces searched a vehicle in which there were two Serbs and shot to kill. We have been warning for weeks about the unprofessional behavior of Kurti's Special Forces, who are trying to intimidate the Serbian people and cause incidents with their actions. We insist that the international community condemns the brutality of these criminals in uniform. Unfortunately, there is no response, and today's brutal attack is not surprising, which is only a continuation of the anti-Serb hysteria of the regime in Pristina," the statement said.

The Serb List, as noted, has been insisting, at all meetings for months, on special units' withdrawal from the north of Kosovo because their presence is illegal and they have caused a series of incidents, but, as they add, everyone is silent.

"They are obviously sending tacit support to those who would cause chaos in these areas without taking into account our warnings. Today's brutal attack on the Serbs has caused anger and indignation among our citizens, who increasingly feel that they have to protect themselves from Kurti's Special Forces and his dictatorial anti-Serb regime's criminal acts, and in accordance with the attitude of the former American president Jefferson, 'When injustice becomes law, resistance becomes a duty,'" the announcement states.

The Serb List demands the immediate withdrawal of all Kurti's Special Forces from the north of Kosovo and Metohija, as they say, and the arrest and sanctioning of those who tried to kill Miljan Delevic and his companion today. They warn that the continued presence of these formations can lead to a spiral of events that will irreversibly threaten peace in these areas.
