The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, stated that the policy of unilateral actions and violations of the rights of Serbs—consistently implemented by Pristina for years—is the greatest threat to regional stability, and accused Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani of “blatantly lying” when she attributes any malicious intentions to Belgrade.

Petkovic was responding to Osmani’s remarks made in Riga, where she repeated claims that Serbia is constantly attempting to destabilize Kosovo.

“Aggression remains the hallmark of the functioning of the provisional institutions of self-government in Pristina to this day, and all attempts by Vjosa Osmani to shift the burden of responsibility for the current situation in Kosovo and Metohija onto Belgrade through distortion of facts represent sheer cynicism and pretense,” Petkovic stated.

He emphasized that Kurti has for years enforced a regime of fear in Kosovo, while Osmani and Gërvalla have nothing to say about it, “except to mindlessly parrot nonsense about Serbia being a zone of Russian influence in the Balkans.”

Petkovic noted that Pristina has yet to agree to participate in a single regional initiative aimed at easing tensions, nor has it demonstrated through any action a willingness to deviate “from its policy of harassing and disenfranchising the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija.”

“Despite hiding skillfully behind flashy slogans about democracy, Osmani is no less of a chauvinist than Albin Kurti and enthusiastically supports the ongoing actions taken against the Serbian people.

Therefore, she is one of the accomplices in the criminal plan to drive Serbs from their ancestral homes—and sooner or later, she will be held accountable for that,” Petkovic concluded.
