Radojevic: Incident in Vuca happened in the presence of KFOR, heavy pressure on Serbs

Milan Radojevic, a member of the Presidency of the Serb List, stated that the most disturbing aspect of the incident in which the Kosovo Police shot at a young man in the village of Vuca near Leposavic was that it occurred in front of KFOR members, who did not react.

Speaking on Pink TV, he emphasized that this raises the question of what role KFOR personnel actually play.

“As the Serb List, we constantly appeal to the representatives of the international community and the Quint for help, and we place the greatest trust in KFOR. That is why it is troubling that members of the Kosovo Police are shooting at our children right in front of them,” Radojevic said, adding that this has left Serbs in Kosovo disappointed.

He explained that American KFOR troops were with the Kosovo Police at the scene of the incident.

“When you speak with KFOR officials, they always repeat that they are here in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 1244. However, each KFOR contingent, in line with the orders of its own government, cooperates with members of the KSF and assists them with training and arming. And when you tell KFOR that their troops are doing this, they respond that KFOR remains neutral and that some of their units cooperate with the KSF under the orders of their countries,” Radojevic stressed.

Regarding the incident in Vuca, Radojevic said that the young man who fled the scene did so out of fear.

“They are using that as an excuse to explain why one of the young men ran from the scene. It is because of fear, and fear is enormous among Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, especially in the north. We have situations where Serbian children were shot in Gotovusa in Strpce on Christmas Eve, and no one was punished for it; numerous incidents on the Bistrica Bridge, where people were injured, again with no one held accountable. Serbs have no protection or assistance whatsoever. Police come with long guns and balaclavas, and on top of that, they question you about why you are wearing certain T-shirts, what you have on you, they demand your mobile phones… These are terrible things, and they are happening in places where there are no cameras,” Radojevic explained.

When it comes to the declaration on a military alliance between Albania, Croatia, and Kosovo, Radojevic stressed the importance of highlighting Serbia’s strength in response.

“Serbia is an independent country, economically and militarily strong, capable of making its own decisions. The real problem in this region is the institutions in Pristina. Of course, Pristina’s ultimate goal is to join NATO, but for that they have to meet certain conditions and go through their assembly. They need a two-thirds majority in parliament, which they will get from Albanian MPs, but under their constitution, they also need a two-thirds majority from so-called minority MPs. This is where the Serb List, thanks to our excellent results in the last parliamentary elections, has the advantage. That is the barrier. That is why Kurti attacks the Serb List, tries to ban it, to dissolve it, and summons prominent Serbs for questioning. I’m one of them. But we are still here, with our people,” he said.

He said that Serbs in Kosovo are under enormous pressure, particularly the families of those convicted of alleged war crimes.

“The scenes our compatriots are enduring are horrific, what Lune’s family is going through since he was sentenced to five years in prison, and what the families of others sentenced to 15 years for alleged war crimes without a single piece of evidence or witness are going through. We somehow have to endure this. The first step we have taken is achieving excellent results in the parliamentary elections. Kurti knows, and Serbs in Kosovo know, that the Serb List is the link to Serbia,“ he stated.

Asked whether Albin Kurti is trying to create new lists with Serbian representatives to weaken the Serb List, Radojevic answered affirmatively.

“Kurti is trying to create his own lists through ‘his Serbs’ in order to weaken the Serb List. The other side of the coin is filing certain indictments and summoning our officials for questioning. The third front of attack is his attempt to change judges or the rules in the Constitutional Court to ban the Serb List. We are glad that in the parliamentary elections we showed our strength, and I believe it will be the same in the local elections,” Radojevic stressed.

As he said, Pristina is trying to provoke a reaction from Serbia by harassing citizens, because a silent ethnic cleansing of Serbs is underway, but for now, it is important to remain prudent.

“We must act politically; we have returned to parliament with nine seats won. It is not easy, because there are no Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija who are not under pressure from their administration, or from the judiciary, or police. I want to commend the Office for Kosovo and Metohija for providing great assistance, they are here for everyone. As for North Mitrovica, it is the most under attack because Kurti’s goal is to merge the municipality of North Mitrovica with the South. We are all wondering what KFOR’s reaction will be once the construction of those infamous bridges Kurti is building is completed. Will KFOR just remain silent, or will they react and heed the petition from the Serbs in Kosovo, and understand that these bridges really could pose a major security risk,” Radojevic concluded.
