Rapajic: Return to the Brussels process and the CSM is needed, but Pristina is not interested

Aleksandar Rapajic, Program Director of the NGO "ACDC" from North Mitrovica, assesses that there won't be anything new from the negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina for now, because, as he says, the Pristina authorities lately operate on the principle of creating a problem, a fire, and then everyone, including Brussels and Belgrade, spends time trying to mitigate that fire.

"From what we see, Pristina isn't interested in the Brussels dialogue; instead, it wants to solve things unilaterally by making a decision and then insisting on its implementation. That is the case now with the dinar. Instead of solving this problem through the CSM, which nobody talks about, it is being resolved by Pristina making some unilateral decisions that essentially benefit no one. No Albanian in Kosovo will live better after the decision of the Central Bank of Kosovo; only Serbs will live worse," Rapajic says for Kosovo Online.

As he points out, a return to the Brussels process and the CSM is necessary because the CSM has already defined how all these problems should be solved.

"For example, the dinar problem would be resolved through the CSM by regulating how Serbia has the right to send money to help the Serbian community and finance healthcare, education, and social services. Everything is already planned; it just needs to be implemented," Rapajic says.
