Odalovic: The fact that there is no gathering at Gazimestan speaks of the security situation in Kosovo

President of the Government Commission for Missing Persons, Veljko Odalovic, says he is sorry that there will be no gathering at Gazimestan this year in celebration of Vidovdan, but that anything can be expected from Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, Kurir reports.

Odalovic says that the mere fact that today's holiday will not be celebrated at Gazimestan, where people have traditionally gathered for years, speaks of the security situation in Kosovo.

"In the past, these were days of Vidovdan festivities with the same message that the Serbs in that sacred space wished to survive. Unfortunately, due to the temporary Pristina institutions, the space has been seriously destabilized. The northern part of Kosovo is practically occupied by Kurti's special forces. I am sorry that there will be no gathering at Gazimestan, but anything can be expected from Kurti. He could further tarnish this day that means nothing to him," Odalovic stated.
