A Self-Determination Movement MP: It is necessary for the ban on the import of goods from Serbia to remain in effect
MP of the Self-Determination Movement, Armend Muja, believes that the ban on the import of goods from Serbia must remain in effect, reports Dukagjini.
"As a country, we are committed to free trade, freedom of movement of capital, and freedom of movement of labor. These are some of the values that we have historically promoted as Kosovo, in our regional cooperation, and in the Berlin Process. We were the first in the Assembly to approve all the measures or agreements proposed within the dialogue regarding movement with just ID cards. Kosovo has been a constructive participant in this process, but Serbia has abused free trade to arm the north of the country. Kosovo needs measures to ensure that these noble values, introduced for the benefit of all people, are not misused by authoritarian leaders and Radoicic’s criminal structure to undermine the physical security or integrity of Kosovo," said Muja.
He expects economic growth to reach about five percent by the end of the year.
"This year’s economic growth is forecast by the Central Bank at 3.9 percent; however, these projections were exceeded in the first two or three months, and the economic growth in the first six months was five percent, which is above projections. I believe it is likely that, considering it was summer, the last three months usually perform better in Kosovo. I do not predict that economic growth will fall below five percent," Muja added.
He also emphasized that the current government is focused on "expanding sovereignty in every part of Kosovo."
"Expanding jurisdiction and integrating the Serbian community into our democracy reduces Serbia’s blackmail potential towards our political elites," Muja concluded.
